One of the best ways to experience the sandhill crane migration is by bike. There are many roads that wind through the river valley, and you can often see cranes right from the road. Biking is a great way to cover a lot of ground and see as many cranes as possible. There will be a long route (40 mi.) starting and finishing at the Stuhr Museum and a short rout (24 mi.) starting and finishing in Doniphan, NE. There will also be a gravel option and a family ride. We’ll be gathering at Stuhr Museum to begin both the Long Route and Gravel Route. Gates will open early. The Bistro will be serving breakfast items for purchase. For folks riding the short route, starting in Doniphan, you’re encouraged to stop by Stuhr prior to heading yo Doniphan. There will be group photo at 9:45. Plan to have bicycle wheels rolling by 10:15.
